Spring 2012 Newsletter

Amongst many other charities and good causes, both local and national, Thatcham are keen to support the UK’s dedicated charity for those who specifically work, or have worked, in the automotive and related industries, as well as their dependants.

BEN’s mission is to help the automotive and related industries provide care and support for employees and their dependants in times of need. Whether it’s practical, emotional or financial support that you need, BEN will help in whatever way they can. BEN also has a range of care centres around the country to care for the elderly in our communities.

How BEN helps
  • BEN provides friendly and non-judgemental support and advice on a wide variety of issues such as health, illness and disability, benefits, money worries, relationships, mental health and housing matters.
  • They make grants to people in financial hardship who need essential equipment, such as a wheelchair, or help to get over a short term hurdle, such as an illness.
  • BEN also has four nursing and residential centres, as well as the UK’s very first workplace day care centre to care for the elderly.

How you can help?

From volunteering or attending BEN's events, to donating or raising awareness at your workplace, there are plenty of ways to get involved.

You could even take part in an amazing charity challenge and climb Mount Kilimanjaro or trek the Great Wall of China. View BEN’s challenge event brochure (pdf).

BEN is your industry charity, and it’s only thanks to the kindness of their supporters that they're able to continue their vital work.
